I like to think stories are in my DNA — my father is a professional storyteller, and my mother tells stories through her artwork. It was only natural that storytelling would be part of my career as a writer: I love helping organizations share their stories with the community.
As a freelance copywriter, I’ve been telling stories for companies, healthcare communities, nonprofits, and schools for the last six years. Prior to that, I was an award-winning journalist for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal and a staff writer for Lubbock Magazine in Lubbock, Texas. I covered a range of topics, including faith, style, local government, health, higher education, and public safety.
Since transitioning to freelance writing in the fall of 2012, I have been fortunate to work with diverse clients, including Lubbock’s University Medical Center, the University Medical Center Foundation, TRUNO (formerly Cash Register Services), Visit Lubbock, Lubbock Magazine, and the Lubbock Independent School District. My creative repertoire includes marketing materials (including fundraising letters, web copy, and print copy), short-form and long-form journalism, speech writing, and blogging. No matter the project — or the story — I have a penchant for producing inspired copy. Ready to see what I can do for you? Use the contact form or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
